Genghis Cat.
Day one: Military ops plan.
He knew dogs lived in this house, their scent was strong. He did not care. He liked the look of the porch. There was a table to hide under, and a rocking chair for lounging. He watched the porch for a day, noting the dogs and their habits. A doberman and a doodle. He dismissed the doodle, and made plans for the doberman.
Day two: Execute ops.
Early morning, cold weather, perfect for his plan. The cold, still air wouldn’t carry his scent to them, they would be in a hurry since it was their first outing of the day. He hid himself under the table, and listened as the dogs approached the door. He crouched, muscles bunching, ready to launch. The door opened and the doberman charged out. Perfectly timing his attack, he sprang at the dog’s head sinking his claws into its muzzle. The dog howled, the cat growled, and spat, and hissed, and inflated himself times three. He was an awesome sight. Missing part of his left ear, one eye crossed, puffed and crazed. The doodle was in full retreat. The terrorized doberman surrendered without a fight.
Day three: Occupied territory.
The cat sat in the rocking chair surveying his newly acquired porch. He would be a benevolent ruler. It took only the occasional swat to keep the dogs from looking him in the eye. Their compliance pleased him.
